[Audi A6] A simple SQ install

Recommended Posts

Postado em (editado)

Hi guys,

How’s everyone doing! Hope everyones all good.

Anyway, got another simple SQ install for you guys

We have an audi A6. The owner wanted to keep his stock headunit for the stock look, so well, at first he already had a simple setup consisting of 2 genesis amps. What was added an audison bit 1 ( would have used a H701, but its hard to find one these days)

He was originally on Helix 3 way competition series ( passive) and he decided to go with the morels.

Here’s some pics of the Helix and close up pics of the Morel Limited edition elates ( I was too late to catch pics of the LE CDM88).

we got a genesis dual mono over here

a stereo 100 over here

the Bit 1 is concealed behind the amp board.. so from the outside, the amps look like this

initially, this car just wanted a passive setup. Since the morel Xovers supported bi amping, both amps powered the front stage.

The bit 1 display in front

the owner didn’t really want the controller to be visible, thus we hid it on the driver side.

Tweeters on the dash ( owner didn’t wanna invest in pods or A pillar )

and here’s the car 

Here’s the funny thing.

A few days later, this customer came back, hands itchy, and did a simple upgrade.. watch out for those soon!

That’s all for today.

Cheers!

hi guys,

thanks for the complement.

down here in Singapore, its pretty safe for cars, not that many car thefts, BUT personally, i'm super paranoid about my own car,

i'll try to answer everyone here.

the difference between the normal elate and the limited edition is that, the LE has a very different " feel", smooth highs and upper mids and very fast mid bass.

BUT the magic comes in when u run them passive. the LEs have very nice cross overs using different components and those are the magic in the system :)

for the helix comp series, i didnt have a change to listen to them in this car, so i cant really comment.

but for the processor,

i'm very familiar with the H701s and this was my first time playing with a Bit1.

What i can say is that, TONALLY, the Bit1 has a better inherent " nature". it just sounds so different from the H701.

H701 sounds a little more digital, a bit dead as compared to the Bit1

BUT

the pain in the ass with the BIT1 is the " pop " sound when u change sources. down here, we are all waiting for alpine to release a new version of the H701 :(

hope these answers ur questions

cheers!

Try to disconnect the cable from any input, and change source to it. If you get no "pop", it can be a ground loop between inputs. Easy to solve!

Hi all,

For those who guessed that the upgrade was a woofer, you are RIGHT!

The owner wanted a little more “ bump” and installed an ultimo SC.

Now, the owner was getting a little restless and decided to go full active. Thus in less than a week, he was back again.

Thus some rewiring was necessary as his previous setup was a passive one and he also got a Genesis 475 amplifier.

Thus his config now will be

Tweets: Genesis stereo 100

Mid range and mid bass: Genesis 475

Woofer: Genesis dual mono.

Processor still remains the same, the audison bit1

Enough chit chat, here are the pics!

Some rca cabling.

anyway, that’s all for today!

Some pple asked me how the Bit1 was like.

Frankly speaking, this is my first encounter with the Bit1. Tonally, I must admit it sounds better than the H701 processor! I was pretty much amazed.

But the Bit1 does have some pop noise issues, so this can be quite a bitch for shops trying to explain to customers.

Anyway, that’s all! I gto another 3 way car coming up soon.

Cheers!
