Top Gear was first shown on the BBC in March 1978. During that time the programme changed very little, the same half-hour format, the same faces. The programme had become stale and viewing figures were falling, so in 2001, the programme was 'rested' by the BBC.

Then everything changed. The programme was relaunched with a completely different format, extended to an hour in length, presented in front of an audience with new presenters and a familiar face from Top Gear's past: Jeremy Clarkson. Along with Richard Hammond and Jason Dawe [who appeared in the first series only] Top Gear was back, bigger and better than ever. This time, there was more to the programme than just test-driving cars. With the new look and new presenters came a fresh approach with an empahsis on entertainment and humour from the natural chemistry between Clarkson and Hammond. James May, (who replaced Jason Dawe at the beginning of the second series) fitted in perfectly and the perfect presenter line-up was complete.

Playing darts with cars, destroying caravans trying to destroy a Toyota Hilux, racing each other to Monte Carlo, Oslo and Verbier, each time in an attempt to prove that the car is king. Then there's The Stig, the enigmatic test driver. He never speaks, he is never seen without his helmet.

The Star in a Reasonably Priced Car feature gives celebrities the chance to set the fastest lap around the Top Gear track. Simon Cowell and Carol Vorderman are just two who have sadly never rolled it over and left a gap in the TV schedules.

You don't have to like cars to like Top Gear, a global audience of a quarter of a billion can't be wrong.

não são legendados não, mas vale a pena, mto loucos os episodios, uma dica pra poupar tempo os episodios 3 e 4 são os mesmos e tão ruins, não vale nem a pena baixar, mas o resto é mtoooo louco o programa...
