Spec

Engine: Assembled by Texas Speed, the engine is based on an '05 LS2 block with an Eagle crank and displaces 402 ci. Diamond Racing pistons with 2cc dishes yield 11.2:1 compression under the PRC Stage 3 heads ported by Texas Speed and stuffed with 2.08/1.60 valves. The cam is from Texas Speed and has 0.662/0.618 lift with 248/254 duration (at 0.050) and a 114-degree lobe separation angle. That cool-looking Hurricane intake featuring eight 52mm throttle bodies is from the boys Down Under at Harrop Engineering (www.harrop.com.au). A full Aeromotive fuel system feeds 42 lb/hr FMS injectors.

Power: It makes 545 hp at 6,200 rpm with 496 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm.

Transmission: A Tremec T56 six-speed trans with a McLeod twin-disc clutch sends the grunt to a carbon-fiber driveshaft.

Rearend: An aluminum 9-inch Moser Engineering centersection is stuffed with a limited-slip differential and 4.10 gears with Moser 33-spline axles.

Chassis

Frame: The stock '69 Camaro chassis and front subframe use DSE subframe connectors and a custom 10-point chrome-moly rollcage for increased rigidity.

Suspension: A DSE four-link kit with a Panhard rod was used in the rear with Afco 200 lb/in springs on Koni coilovers in place of the leaf springs. DSE tubular upper and lower control arms and coilover Konis were mated to the stock subframe along with a Hotchkis sway bar. A 12.7:1-ratio DSE 600 steering gear replaces the original box, and DSE tie-rod adjusters were also added.

Brakes: A Hydratech hydroboost system puts pressure to the six-piston Baer MonoBlock brakes with 14-inch calipers all around.

Wheels: High-dollar HRE 834Rs are anodized black and measure 18x8.5 in the front on a 5.25-inch backspacing. In the back are 18x12s with 5.5-inch backspacing.

Tires: Pirelli tires grip the pavement with 245/40-18s in front and wide 335/30-18s in the rear.

Style

Body: The stock body was treated to a rotisserie restoration but uses a DSE minitub kit to clear the 12-inch rear wheels and a smooth firewall from DSE. The factory '69 RS headlight doors now open via a DSE electric kit. The front indicator lights, side markers, and taillights are from Marquez Design (www.marquezdesign.com).

Paint: The paint is a basecoat/ clear two-stage from PPG simply called Gloss Black.

Interior: Sparco seats were re-covered by Helman's Upholstery in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to match the leather-wrapped dash, door panels, and rear interior panels from Marquez Design. A Vintage Air Gen-II Compac A/C system keeps the cool, and an on-board fire system keeps it safe.
