  1. Voltage tells nothing about sound quality. I've already tested some Nakamichi stuff that with 1 Volt pre-out beats almost any Alpine head unit, and is very near from Alpine 7990 (F1). There's much more about this, like output impedance, components' quality (you can make a 8v pre-out using cheap operational amplifiers, but can make a 1v pre-out using hi-end opamps, that will sound much much better than the 8v cheap one, and I'm not even talking about the dac and volume controller and capacitors quality, that also plays a very important role) About EQ, when you use it, you will loose timbre, dynamics, clarity, details. You only get a better response on RTA, but that doesn't mean that you have a better system. About time alignment, than I have to agree with you. It is important if you want a centered and focused sound stage (again, you loose timbre, dynamics, clarity, details....), so a processor should be used (preferably by using DSP, and not analog, since analog implementations for time alignment can reduce badly the sound quality). No english please !!!
  2. Thanks guys.
  3. You're just comparing specs. Specs usually are not related to sound quality (any real audiophile knows that). And those systems that you showed us uses external equalizers, what should never be used on a serious system for sound quality. MHHHh,,, let see ,,,,So in a highend system I shoud never use a processor like the :precision power(ppi),,,,,,,,,,1/3 octave EQ,,,,,,,,,,,30 Band Equalizer,,,,, Pre Amp Line Driver I disagree with you ... Hm mmmmm.. Here you go !!! In a perfect environment... you would never use an external processor,,,,but car environmet is far from perfect,,,,,,,so, you need to tam or cut down some frecuencies......there is where you use an external 1/3 Octave eq, 30 band(yes 30 band equalizer.........
  4. You're just comparing specs. Specs usually are not related to sound quality (any real audiophile knows that). And those systems that you showed us uses external equalizers, what should never be used on a serious system for sound quality. I'm sorry my friend, but if you have a radio with 4 volts non clipping preouts(cda 7949), and a radio with clipping preouts, and a weaker voltage,,,, which one would you choose ? and let me tell you the alpine pxa-h600 is an amazing processor. and with the alpine cda 7949, 7969 7990, you don't really need an externa eq. they are excellent head units, with very nice and clean sound quality. but of course if you want a little more control (not more sound quality, just control) you can add an external processor but is an option. here you can see one of the best combos...alpine cda 7949 and the alpine pxa-h600 processor...
  5. As you can see there is BIG difference between the alpine cda 7949, cda 7969, and the alpine cda 7990(all the big dogs) and.......... the low line alpine CDA 7892.......There is just not comparation .............. Thanks...
  6. Alpine cda 7949, Some specifications: Copper chassis(only alpine's top of the line units uses copper chassis--alpine cda 7949, alpine cda 7969, alpine cda 7990 and probably the new alpine dvi-9990) true 4 Volts NON clipping preouts(mine tested: 5.8 volts NON clipping-means non distortion) Optical digital output(Toshlink-toshiba link){Optical output allows the digital signal to be transmitted between components, via fiber optic cable, maintaning absolute signal purity} 3 preouts subwoofer level control blackout bbe(A Sophisticated technology that creats realistic sound fiels with richly detailed sound that is remarkably free from distortion) Ai-Processor Regulated 1 Bit Dac( This DAC Eliminates zero-crossed distortion and improves linerity, It uses an independent power supply that provides firmer bass and greater spaciousness) Ai-talk Display Gold plated Rca jacks Audio interrupt in. Thanks ....
  7. O que esperar de um americano típico? Por isto q os players lá valem as bandas que possuem no EQ... sem falar no EQ extra, pra ficar completinho... Hi, Nope nope nope!!!!!! I just using the alpine era-g320 processor "as a display unit", my alpine cda 7949 controls the sound in my system, the alpine processor just shows the music, but doesn't control and doesn't affect the sound at all.( is Cosmetic add). some time ago. I had the alpine pxa-h600 processor....very nice unit, but I like the face of the alpine era-g320 processor better, But the alpine pxa-h600 is a wonderful unit...I'll post some pictures of the diagram later on .
  8. alpine 7892
  9. Taking about my alpine cda 7949, or the alpine 7998 vs the alpine 7892 Here you go : from desertheat. I usually give advice, but have found probably 95% of the time people like this are so set in there ways they think everyone else knows nothing. I have probably 20 more stories from this month alone like that when dealing with car audio guys. Here is one that happened about a month ago with a kid in the parking lot of an "audio depressed, home of the one doller wire fire..." this kid worked there... I went in to see if an old buddy of mine Kory still managed the place, had not seen him in years. I asked and everyone there had been hired in the last few months but the new manager was in the office and no one at the sales desk knew a Kory. So I was cool and was on my way out. The kid, a small slick black haired wanna be cars salesman of about 18 years old asked if I needed anything, I said no thank you that my system was complete and I was all set. He then tells me that a system is never complete and asked what I was running for a deck. I told him a 7949 and he gave me a blank look and said oh wait that is an "old cheapy deck, the new alpine have 4V preouts and sound 10x better and that the frequency responce on the older alpines was only 50-18Khz and the new ones sound better because they have a range of 5-100K hz." I just smiled and said oh really? Thats cool. He then tried to offer me a 9831 or somthing that is a nice deck but for like $499 or somthing like that "can buy on ebay for $230 new" I was polite and said no thank you, my deck works just fine. The little smart *** then replied "why would you want to use an old crappy deck like a 7949, I thought you said you had a nice system and it was complete, that was only like a $199.99 deck back in like 1995 and it is worthless now and you could get so much more bass out of your system if you bought a new alpine! I was calm and said in a nice as tone possible "listen *** whipe, my 7949 has 4v preouts and the deck was $1000+ back in 1999 and it's frequency responce is 5-20db +/-1db, yes it is older but it is what I like so lay the hell off I do not want an overprice overmarked up deck from you guys. The manager heard the argument and came out and told the kid the 7949 was a very nice deck and that he also had one in his truck. He then apologised to me and said the employee was new, went back in the office and took the employee with him, layed a huge folder full of alpine stuff on the desk and I heard him tell the kid he was going to quiz him this afternoon on alpine decks. I was really suprized at the manager for usually audio depressed is a total shiz hole with pain in the arse sales people The manager actually new car audio!!! Thanks
  10. hey dude... be welcomed you'd be better off speaking english here I don't speak English >>>LOL. thanks slaugh...
